Dell Children’s in Kyle

Now, the world-class pediatric emergency care offered at Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas is available in Hays County. With new care guidelines developed in partnership with pediatric experts at Dell Children’s,  Seton Hospital in Kyle is now able to provide quality pediatric emergency care for those who living in the area. When advanced care is necessary, Emergency Doctors at Seton will communicate with Dell Children’s Emergency Doctor’s via Virtual Care Technology. The doctor’s at Dell Children’s in Austin will have a direct link with the emergency room at Seton and will be able to work hand in hand with Seton’s Doctors providing them any additional necessary support.

Both non-profit hospitals are owned by Ascension, the world’s largest Catholic health system. With a growing Central Texas population, Hays county was the obvious next expansion for Dell Children’s Hospital. In 2016, Hays County was named the fastest growing county in Texas and fifth fastest in the entire country by the U.S. Census Bureau. And it is going to continue, census predictions show that the population will grow from today’s 188,000 to nearly 275,000 within the next 15 years.

Although Dell Children’s will remain the only Level 1 Trauma Center in Central Texas, Seton Medical Center Hays is a convenient option for those with acute injuries. Another convenience at Seton is that you can make an Emergency appointment online, allowing patients to be seen within 15 minutes at either campus. Obviously, this is only for minor Emergencies, but if you’ve ever been to an emergency room you will appreciate this effort.
